2023 CHS Prom Grand March Video: https://youtu.be/mUPSfqGYpWg

Good Morning Cub Nation,
This is a follow up message from this morning’s disruption of our school day. In conjunction with the Chamberlain Police Department and the Brule County Sheriff’s office, CSD was able to identify the source of the Snapchat message. After interviewing several individuals, it was found that the message originated from an individual out of our school district. Further investigation found that the media used in the message is from an incident in New Mexico in 2018.
School District’s across the Midwest with “CHS” as their acronym have experienced similar situations this week and many have had to cancel classes. All of these incidents are related to this viral posting.
The Chamberlain School District, local, and regional police all take these threats seriously. Parents, please have a conversation with your children about what to do when they are sent messages with threats in them. Sharing the message out again through social media, text, or any other platform will have legal consequences and in-district consequences. Instead of sharing it with friends, inform a parent or adult so that swift action can be taken to prevent any disasters.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me at 605-234-4477.
Regards,
Dr. Justin Zajic
Superintendent of Schools
Chamberlain School District

With Mother Nature taking 2 in-person school days this week and midterms falling this week, the track team will NOT be going to the DWU indoor meet tomorrow. The plan is to attend the Wagner outdoor meet on Tuesday April 11. Hopefully Mother Nature start working with us.

After assessing several of the bus routes, we have found that roads are still ice covered and driving conditions, even for experienced drivers, are dangerous. Chamberlain School District will again have a Virtual Snow Day today, April 5, 2023. Stay home and stay safe everyone.

Due to continued rain and ice accumulation, the Chamberlain School District will be two hours late tomorrow, April 5, 2023.

Today, April 3, 2023, the Chamberlain School District will be sending home materials in preparation for a potential Virtual Snow Day on April 4, 2023. As of right now, we still plan to be in person tomorrow, but the current projected forecast looks to have heavy accumulations.
If we have a virtual snow day tomorrow, the make up date for the Jk-1 Concert will be April 11th at 6:00 PM.

Weekly Schedule

Winner Varsity Track for Saturday is postponed.
Middle School Track at MVP April 6 is cancelled.
With the weather, changes in track meets are inevitable. Please be flexible and we will keep you as up to date as possible.

Greetings CubNation!
Spring is on backorder again!
Given the forecast for tomorrow, March 31, 2023, we are preparing for a potential Virtual Snow Day. At this point, we are still planning to be in session tomorrow, but would like to prepare should the weather arrive early or we get an ice storm. Tonight, your student will be coming home with the needed materials to complete the work assigned tomorrow. Please refer to the District website, https://www.chamberlain.k12.sd.us/page/virtualsnowday, for details and expectations.
On these Virtual Snow Days, the best way to contact teachers is through email, Schoology, or SeeSaw.
Regards,
Dr. Z
