Reminder regarding golf carts for state meets; The use of motorized vehicles during SDHSAA Championship Play is strictly limited. Due to significant abuse of previous policy, the practice of carts being given to spectators has been further revised. Individuals with a disability that would like to request the use of a cart may do so through their local administration prior to the tournament. Carts will only be provided, for a fee, to individuals who have both had a request submitted in advance and are in possession of either a current handicap parking hang-tag or license plate in their own name. Those individuals utilizing a cart will be required to sign a waiver before using the cart for the tournament. Doctor's notes or other documentation will not be sufficient for the ability to rent or use a motorized cart. Personal, privately-owned carts are not to be used during championship play. If they are not listed prior to Friday June 2nd at noon they will not be able to use a cart. When requesting - Please email me a picture of the parking permit. If you would like to have a cart reserved for you please contact me and include a picture of your permit by email. bill.kurtz@k12.sd.us Thank you.

Good Morning Cub Nation, This is a follow up message from this morning’s disruption of our school day. In conjunction with the Chamberlain Police Department and the Brule County Sheriff’s office, CSD was able to identify the source of the Snapchat message. After interviewing several individuals, it was found that the message originated from an individual out of our school district. Further investigation found that the media used in the message is from an incident in New Mexico in 2018. School District’s across the Midwest with “CHS” as their acronym have experienced similar situations this week and many have had to cancel classes. All of these incidents are related to this viral posting. The Chamberlain School District, local, and regional police all take these threats seriously. Parents, please have a conversation with your children about what to do when they are sent messages with threats in them. Sharing the message out again through social media, text, or any other platform will have legal consequences and in-district consequences. Instead of sharing it with friends, inform a parent or adult so that swift action can be taken to prevent any disasters. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me at 605-234-4477. Regards, Dr. Justin Zajic Superintendent of Schools Chamberlain School District
